Here’s the Job:
Under the direction and supervision of the Production Supervisors, the Production Operator is responsible for setting up and operating manufacturing equipment and machinery. This may include moving and handling materials to and from the production line, and/or filling, capping, neck banding, labeling, or packaging products. The Production Operator must ensure that the quality standards for all products have met or exceeded, and production volumes continually improve. The Production Operator is expected to provide feedback and input to help further improve the manufacturing and packaging process; helping to exceed quality standards. This position will consist of standing and/or walking for 8+ hours daily. Overtime and/or earlier/later working days may be offered depending on production tasks
Responsibilities Include:
• Sets up, starts and operates assigned equipment and machinery within the manufacturing facility
• Cleans assigned equipment and machinery as well as manufacturing areas according to specific guidelines
• Troubleshoots any problems with equipment or machinery
• Carefully inspects all ingredients, machinery and products to ensure quality standards
• Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Identifies and reports any issues to the Production Supervisor
• Follows all safety policies and procedures at all times
• Completes and documents production work and cleanings according to required logs; includes sanitization logs, MMR’s, and transport/daily logs.
• Work with other production operators to continually improve throughput yields and eliminate waste
Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in a Production Operator position or job title with similar responsibilities
• High School diploma or GED equivalence
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
• Must be able to stand for long period of time
• Must be able to read/write in English
• Must Communicate effectively with all manufacturing personnel
• Must have problem solving skills and/or troubleshooting abilities
• Must be open to continual education; such as company trainings, regulation statues, and safety policies
• Required Company Sponsored trainings; CGMP course and completion certification

Encapsulation Machine Operator
As an Encapsulation Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating encapsulation equipment that produces dietary supplements in hard capsule forms. For some products and equipment, scooping raw materials and empty capsules into the hopper will be required. You will also be responsible for cleaning the manufacturing equipment, utensils and the room in which you operate. Other tasks include assisting the other processes of our manufacturing.
We Make Vitamins LLC in Lakeland, FL is looking for one capsule operator to join our strong team. We are located on 2715 Badger Road. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and hard-working able to work alone for long periods of time, and reliable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to understand English
• Comply with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), and must be able to interpret, follow and complete scheduled production on-time
• Must have ability to read, follow detailed Batch Production Record instructions and fill out documents that include the following tasks:
• Set up and operate equipment; if needed, adjust settings during operation
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment i.e. perform mold changes
• Verification of equipment settings and molds before encapsulation
• Perform in-process checks until batch is complete i.e. fill weight, etc.
• Collect and weigh capsule yields into containers using scales
• Calculate and record total theoretical capsule yield and actual yield
• Load containers on pallets for in-house polishing
• Can be exposed to allergens (such as egg powders), odors, dust or particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
• Ensure proper operation of equipment and promptly reports any concerns to management
• Clean and sanitize equipment/part prior to and/or after use; disassembling and reassembling as needed
• Sweep/wash floors and work areas to maintain equipment and work area in sanitary condition
• Return unused materials (i.e. empty capsules) to designated areas
• Work with QA Personnel to perform quality checks on a daily basis
• Develop strong lines of communication with other co-workers to ensure plant-efficiency
• Must wear appropriate gear: hairnets, gloves, dust masks, etc.
Yearly Refresher Training on following topics:
• Personal Hygiene and cGMP’s
• Sanitary and Safe Food Handling Techniques
• Allergens
• Updates or Revisions made to SOPs since last training
• Must be able to do overtime when requested from time to time
• Performs other duties as assigned that are necessary, required or directed by supervisors
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, grab, push, pull hold and carry
• Must be able to perform repetitive motion work
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Standing, walking for 8+ hours a day
• Must be able to handle varying temperatures per department
